Supervision with Marie
I love supporting new therapists! I have been supporting interns, trainees, and Associate Licensed Professionals in the counseling field since 2011. I believe that in supervision, the relationship is the foundation for growth, and strive to create a strong, trusting connection. Working with me, you can expect me to be reliable and consistent, while focused on supporting you to become your best therapist. I work best with folks who are interested in using this special time of being supervised for professional growth and development and not just to check a box. Send me a message and we can connect to see if we are a good fit.
Professional Counseling Background and Orientation
I have worked in a variety of settings with a diverse client population, these include working in community mental health, in long term residential treatment, with college students, and with Veterans in both residential treatment and outpatient services. My experience also includes 15 years working in wilderness education which has had a major role in my theoretical orientation. My theoretical model is holistic and focused in the Recovery Model. I use an eclectic approach that combines many different modalities including, but not limited to; strength based, person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality based, nature based, motivational interviewing, developmental focused, grief work, co-occurring, disorders, and experiential techniques.
Nature of Supervision
I use a combination of a few different models of supervision including but not limited to, the Developmental Model, Person-centered, and Bernard’s Discrimination model. Supervisee’s will be assessed for their knowledge and skills related to Counseling as well as their ability to assess Ethical Issues and implement response strategies. Evaluation will be ongoing using both formal and informal tools throughout the supervision relationship.
Supervision structure
Supervision sessions will be scheduled for one hour weekly or as needed for board requirements. Collaborative telephone calls are permitted but may not count towards the supervision hours needed for completion of license or internship requirements. Sessions can be scheduled to meet in-person or virtual. Depending on your office location, I can often meet at your office.
Supervision session consists of case presentation, reviewing audio or video tape, and live supervision (when possible).
Session Fees and Length of Service
Our sessions will be 60 minutes in length and scheduled weekly, or as needed for the requirements of your license.
The fee for each session is $125 for individual and $80 each for dyadic session. Payment is expected prior to session. Will coordinate with your employer for payment as needed.
Full fee is due if session is cancelled with less than 24 hour notice.
